How To Colour Block 2013 Trend

Colour is everywhere! Green trees, blue skys, lovely flowers in all colours of the rainbow - everywhere you look! All these lovely hues calling to open your closet for new color experiments. As inspired as I am with the colourful world I see around me, I created  this little post about colour blocking. I would like to shortly introduce the concept of this awesome trend, and how it works.

  • Colour blocking is a technique where blocks of various fabrics are sewn together to create clothing with a few (usually 2 or 3) different solid colours.
  • The easiest way to colour block is to choose the primar colours (Red, Blue and Yellow) or pair up colours accros in the colour-wheel (purple, green, orange) for the outfit.
  • Another easy way to colourblock is to choose neutral (gray, navy, black) outfit and add bright colourful accessories in "colour-blocking" colors and vice versa.
  • The most fashionable way to wear this trend this season is to match white and black contrasting clothes. (Black and white stripes is going to be huge trend for the summer season!!! )
And of course I was inspired enough to create two outfits and shoot some pictures for you to get the idea of this concept.

***BAMM***

For this look I chose Tiffany blue top from H&M (similar) with navy jeans and bright yellow H&M bag (similar). (Well, not to mention, orange manicure plays also a significant role in this summery outfit).

I didn't have much time and I needed to run some errands, so....

.... I just added a lether jacket (similar) from a local boutique, flower print scarf  and dark green sunglasses (link) and was ready! :)

I hope you enjoyed this (kind of colourful) blogpost and be free to share your thoughts in the comment bar below with suggestions for upcoming posts ! :)
